• Hilary Duff rewatched the “What Dreams Are Made Of” performance from The Lizzie McGuire Movie in a video for Vanity Fair.
  • She said she dislike one of the iconic outfits that she wore during the scene.
  • At the time, Hilary noted that she was not a fan of outfit’s color—but did enjoy one small aspect of the costume.

Now I don’t claim to be some kind of film expert, but The Lizzie McGuire Movie is easily one of the best movies of all time. The plot is full of hilarious shenanigans, the setting is to die for, and the wardrobe is peak 2000s nostalgia—but according to Hilary Duff, there was one iconic outfit in the movie that she couldn’t stand to wear.

In a video with Vanity Fair, Hilary was shown a clip of her from the movie performing as Italian pop star Isabella. While Lizzie wears the most perfect two-piece lavender set while hitting the stage to sing “What Dreams Are Made Of,” Isabella wears a fitted green jacket with a matching skirt that contains a sheer floor length overlay. It’s literally one of the most iconic outfits in the movie, but Hilary wasn’t a fan of it.

“I remember hating this green Isabella outfit so much,” she told the outlet. “It's so funny that it's so iconic.”

“The costumer from the movie made all the outfits, like, original. It wasn't, like, a designer or anything,” the actress said. “Unlike the TV show where, like, I picked all my clothes, there was a costumer, but it was, like, very influenced by me. Not so much in the movie—and, like, by the way, she crushed it—but being, like, a young teenage girl, I just remember not liking that lime green number at all.”

Hilary didn’t hate every part of that costume, though—“I loved the brown wig,” she added.
